Prison Ministry Team

What we do

We visit prisoners; we evangelize and preach the word of God to them in their correctional facilities. We also supply them with Bibles and Christian Literature, soap, juices and biscuits for the children and occasionally sanitary and personal items to the women prisoners.
We take this opportunity to thank the members of Gideons International who have always been more than willing to provide bibles whenever we have asked them to.

Where we Serve

We concentrate on the local prisons in the area formally called Rift Valley Province. From Kajiado GK Prisons all the way to Lodwar GK Prisons. We visit 33 Prisons in a year. The Prisons that are near Nairobi are visited three times a year, namely; – Nanyuki, Kajiado and Kitengela, Naivasha Maximum and Nakuru GK Prisons. Those that are far away like Lodwar and Kapenguria are visited twice a year.

GET INVOLVED

The missions are fully financed by the church. We welcome donations for clothing, TV sets, books and any other Christian Literature.

Membership:

The Prison Ministry consists of volunteers from the church and everyone is welcome to join. The team is headed by Deaconess Teresa Kariuki. There have been requests from some of the prisons we have visited in the past that we also minister to the prison warders / officers in those stations. Members of the church that are counselors are required so that we can be able to meet these emerging opportunities in ministry.

Current Challenges in the Ministry

Transport costs take a huge chunk of the money provided by the church ministry. A ministry vehicle would cost us less and give us better flexibility.
I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Matthew 25:36
